www.l67swap.com ....would be your best spot for info on this.

FYI: It has been swapped into a Cavilier...I dont see why not a GA

It can be swapped.

I don't believe it's more complicated then a firewall and engine mount adjustment, other then a few re-alignment issues and matching up.

Good luck with the swap, you'll have a killer car if you get it done!!

Why swap the engine when it will be easier to just mod up the current one?

Instead of swapping from a 3.4L to a 3.8L just buy a catback exhaust, new headers, new high flow cat. converter, cold air intake and a supercharger.

What I want to know is how to make a 3.8L supercharger fit on my 3.4L engine?

:uhoh: Custom-install like crazy. I've seen it done, but the guy took the supercharger and his current intake, cut his intake, then welded the supercharger over the hole. then from there you have to make sure all your pulleys line up, and etc. Not to mention it was a really ugly install

I wouldn't even recommend it. the 3800 supercharged engine is built to handle the extra boost in compression, and can be modded a LOT more than the 3.4.......there is hardly even a market for aftermarket 3.4 engine mods.

I had a fella match the lowwer intake ports and fabricate a spacer to fit the supercharger , im lucky I didnt blow the engine since computer work and compression needed to be lowered and I had no clue. The supercharger was from a series 2 3800 but crapped out before I could figure out how to adjust my engine's compression and program the puter to accept the changes the supercharger makes. Now I stick to N/A tuning , unless a project drops on my lap.

As far as adjusting the computer, I think that if you take it to get dyno tested, they will reconfigure your computer for you. As far as the difficulty in making a 3.8L fit, I was only going to attempt it if people said it wasn't too difficult. I think now I will just wait and see if I can find a used 3.4L on ebay or something.

The engine bay is exactly the same (grand am and cavalier) A guy in california did the first 3.8 supercharged engine swap into a 99. I bet hes got a v8 by now lol I also have a pic of a 99 grand am with a 350 lt1 supercharged V8 with rwd conversion.

There was no point , the supercharger crapped out before I figured that problem out. I can only find wheel dyno's out here nothing that hooks up to the pc.
