Just wondering upon the benefits of an electric fan. Obviously it'll reduce some drag on the engine, but would one really be worth it and if so about how much?

well i suspose it would be worth it, it would make getting the belts and everything off easier, you could just go get an electric fan out just about any car, jus take some measurements, or get a good picture in your head of about how much space you have under your hood to mount it and take a trip to the junk yard, i would say its gonna run you about 50 bucks

I'd grab a fan out of a ford taurus or any other big family sedan. The cars are meant for hauling a lot of stuff(lots of weight) and have to be super-reliable(no overheating), so they seem to have the best fans, not to mention they're plentiful.

A fan out of a Taurus is a good idea, they flow great and are available from junkyards dirt cheap. I've heard the Mark VIII fan also works great. Keep in mind though that these fans will probably blow a fuse when you start them, they require BIG power to start. It's almost for sure that you'll have to do some upgrades to your electrical system. Here's an article that might help you. http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/02/electricfan/index.shtml
