on my 96 accord it wasn't too hard. Are you using a repair manual, or no, cause you might have missed a screw or two. I just scratched the shit out of the plastic near the front of the door where the mirror attaches to from the trim scraping as i put it back on. It was kind of a pain, so feel free to use a little force.

I have the Haynes manual...On the '97, you have to:
- unscrew the pop-up lock thing (by the window)
- Unscrew the screw in the door latch and the pull handle.
- Pop of the plastic piece that covers the bolts for the side-view mirrors (uses a retention clip)
- Pop out the plastic retention clip just below that
- disconnect the wires to the power door locks and the power windows (then pull that peice out).
- pop the door lever off the rod and pull the lever out of the door
- Use something like a putty knife to pry the 4 retention clips loose around the bottom of the door.
- now the door panel should lift up.
- last thing is to unclip the bottom door light wires and you should be done.
I hope that I didn't forget anything, but that should do it for you...the biggest pain is the 4 retention clips around the bottom...they are kind of hard to pop off, so you feel like you're going to break something. Let me know if it works...Later
