I used to hate imports!

As for v8's and 4 bangers it is just a different feeling atleast for me i own a v8 old school hot rod and man its just the feeling of that car and the mean idle and when it screams like a bat outa hell when i dump the clutch and take off its just a diffent feeling you only get from a v8.

I used to think imports and euros were just nice little cars that ppl made look real exotic and cool and never saw them as fast or furious (lol) I also thought these guys didnt know shit about cars and bought all of their mods and had a shop do everything from checking their oil too putting air in their tires. I hated ricers soooo bad especially when i'd be cruising down the road and i'd see a riced out honduh cutting off a family in a minivan and speedin by for no reason and just acting like assholes on the road. I constantly loved to leave them in the dust with their g/f in the passenger seat i felt good with my g/f while that guy felt like a little bitch I know it wasnt fair but they pissed me off. These ricers are what keeps the import scene from being embrassed by true v8 and domestic enthusiasts becuz they piss evrybody off.

I have now changed my views and i owe it all too this forum and awsome guys who know their shiiit like eclipse rst and joe and all you guys who changed my mind about imports i only started looking into imports cuz i'm gonna need a car thats gets me good gas mileage and looks cool for college i ran into this forum and got a whole new perspective.

This thread is dedicated to those of you who go outa their way to explain things and i commend you on all your hard work and experience its ppl like you who made this scene from assholes on the road to pretty cool guys who know their shit.

P.S I also had it in my mind that euros were for girls only :nono: they get chicks :naughty:

some of us Imports are actually like you said LOL.. very fast and furious. as far as i know... the eclipse is banned in taiwan and turkey. because they're so affordable and so fast. it just dangerous. not to mention it's one of the easiest cars out there to mod. you can literately slap on anything with a reasonable price tag and still make it fly.

i used to crave for a big ass ricer couch style spoiler and ridiculous decales. but i learned from being a member of this forum that's not what's all about. it's not how big your spoiler is or how loud you can make your cofee cup muffler scream or how hot your fire decale look on your door. (we all know those stereo type). but those are the ghetto ricers who's got no real power under the hood. it's more about being the silent type that comes out of no where and take your breath away. it's ok to be a ricer, just don't go ghetto. lol

All japanese cars are rice burners, and all cars with aftermarket japanese parts are 'riced out'. Ricer doesn't mean ignorant, but some ricers ARE... so that's the stereotype. It doesn't matter if you have a civic with a wing or a stock civic, someone who drives a corvette might call you a ricer. Get over it, a lot of people hate japanese imports.

And i only want to say one thing..! if some of you think imports with body kits and ect are ricers..then I guess domestics are too! cus damn iv seen some wack up mustangs on the road with their huge bodykits..its just sad how they make fun of imports with bodykits, and on the same time their own kind are doing it too

i'm far over it its not bothering me so you can calm down. i'm saying myself and others in other forums such as the street racing forums and comparison have the same look that ricer can be a stang civic or anything else. my point also is the word ricer was originaly used for racist terms so if you are saying that only japanese cars are ricers then that will and has offended many asian people. which is wrong wether i get over it or not.

Anything that makes your car stand out too much is rice.........stickers, aluminum spoilers (shopping cart handles), or obnoxious body kits that aren't painted. Most cars with this shit on them are usually stock with maybe a muffler and cai. That's rice.

There's nothing unfortunate about that. DSM's are amazing machines. The 4G63 can easily make 400 horsepower with no internal mods.

Agreed. Anyone who claims the term "ricer" is racist is overlooking the issue. It is true that the word is used to relate to a cultural and economic aspect of a country...but it certainly doesn't intend to demean the people of that country for it. The vast majority of people I would call ricers are rich white boys with big heads; has nothing to do with racism, just a clever word coined to describe a certain albeit immature style of automotive preference ;)

agreed, GS-T or GSX, you don't want to get a car like this that can't even beat a taurus off the line...unless you plan on puttin a turbo on it! IMO you would be happier with the GS-T or GSX

i know i should get a gsx/gst but i cant afford the insurance on one i'm looking for a rs/gs because i'm slowly gonna mod it then finally add turbo kit all in time cuz i gotta work and go to college cant afford unnnessary spending of my precious funds. I'm trying to get somebody to tell me or show me how to get the most power out of the 420a motor by going all engine first then when all motor mods are exhausted someday i'll add a turbo.

GS-T's insurance can be quite high, my 23 year old friend who drives one, having the insurance under his name was paying something like 6k a year lol... obviously depends on age and your driving record.

Depending on age and driving record, it can be huge. Buying a GSX (or any AWD DSM) can actually lower insurance from that of a FWD model.

AWD is a safety feature, so the GST would be the worst. my premium just went up to 1700/6 months. bastard cops and their tickets...
