AC unit 2001 durango

tried to add to my refrigrant after 3 rd can heard hiss and the fluid came out of the back of the unit anybody had this problem and fix for it? i think soneone said it was a pressure switch, but herb chambers dont sell the switch alone, they sell the whole compressure unit.
