Diablo SV vs 2004 Z06

Well i went to the Scca races in the Diablo today, unfortunately i got there too late to race. The guy who i raced the Ferrari against in the Z06 was there. Very cool guy.

We decided to race the Diablo against the Z06, as he wanted to see what would happen. After telling him the Diablo was much different than the 355, i told him to honk 3 times and we'd go on the 3rd honk, thereby even giving him the jump.

We went from a first gear roll, i was about 2500 rpm, 3rd honk and immediately the Diablo surges forward, continuing to add buslenghts throughout each gear. By the time i let off at 140mph, he was atleast 15 cars behind.

I found this funny because not too long ago the Z06 guys were discussing how close they would be with a Diablo 6.0 saying it was basicly up to driver. LOL

Anyways, ill have video, because the people behind us videoed it!!!

No nos, and yes my car is quicker than a 6.0.

how is that? can you say what you put in it?

Stock for stock an SV is quicker than a 6.0 .
6.0 has an advantage off the line with all-wheel drive, but SV is substantially lighter. 6.0 is rated at 550hp, SV at 530, but the ram air is never factored in, which makes a big difference the faster you are going.

what if you have the ram air on the 6.0 like al burtoni? and i thought the 98 had 510 hp not 530

96-97 Euro cars had 510hp, Lambocars stats are wrong. U.S. 98+99 cars have 530hp.

Never raced a Burtoni modded 6.0 so i cant tell you. His stuff sucks, so id put the money on myself.

Thats tru :iceslolan . The U.S. '98 SV's did have 530 hp. Lambocars does have a few mix-ups like the 6.0 doing 0-60 in 3.9 sec wtf????? :screwy: As l said before. SV owns :loser:

96-97 Euro cars had 510hp, Lambocars stats are wrong. U.S. 98+99 cars have 530hp.

Never raced a Burtoni modded 6.0 so i cant tell you. His stuff sucks, so id put the money on myself.
why does it suck, without a s/c or t/c he make 632 hp on his 6.0?

WOW! is there any other way besides a t/c or s/c to gain about 50 hp on a 6.0 and not nos?

His exhaust makes like 20hp, while others make like 50.

No, the VT 'WAKIM' is champagne coloured - suspect it was the 'DEVEGA' car that was in Fowles Auctions 6 months ago with crappy interior and no rear bumper or left rear side of car.

Have seen a yellow Diablo (not roadster) down Caringbah once - older guy - nailed it!

There was a yellow VT roadster for sale in Rick Damelian's about 2 years ago and Rivkin had one (sold it to Phillipousos) - cannot be that many around. A blue roadster lives under Bennelong apartments at Circular Quay and if you drive to either of the Demir shops, you can see his Murcie (black)

I'd love to be able to do some drag racing in my 1995 Diablo (rolling start preferred to save my clutch) in Hong Kong.
But there just isn't anyplace to do it.

Mixed bag of results.
If I revved to 3500 then dropped the clutch it seemed to get the best result leaving the others behind.
The 996 seemed to be the slowest but that could be down to the driver.

From the cars you listed, you should dust any of them, without putting the slightest strain on your clutch. You could feather it out of the whole, and then jump on it, and blow by them like they were in reverse.

I did work experiance at Kareena Private Hostpital between November 11th, and 15th of 2002, and on the last day, friday (the 15th) I was coming back from Sutherland Hospital (mum works there) and I saw, PARKED, in the carpark to the private hostpital, the Yellow VT Roadster!!!
I stood RIGHT behind it! It was amazing!

I also saw it last october leaving Engadine towards Sutherland! And again in gymea bay.

I also saw a Gallardo in Gymea Bay last weekend! WOO!

I've also seen a Blue SV at Heathcote road lights heading southbound.

And I past another yellow Diablo on tuesday coming back from uni (it was heading southbound). I'm not fully sure if it was the Roadster i've seen before, but it had the same spoiler.

BTW, I've seen a few ferrari's around, a few in Cronulla/Caringbah area, and the driver of the gallardo was mid/late 40's.

I'll ask you this question again about the engine warning light.
On my car the R engine warning light has been playing up (I hope).
It goes on and then goes away.
I however do not notice any changes in engine noise, vibration or loss of power during the drive.
So all in all it feels fine.
So do you think this is a "phantom" problem?

Could be an oxygen sensor acting up. Do you have cats?

Yes I do have cats in the car.
The car runs on high octane V-Power Shell unleaded.
Does this make a difference?

Id be carefull with the cats. Very common problem is for them to disintegrate. You should take them off.

Cat could cause your check engine light to come on. Id be careful if i were you. Do you also have the stock Muffler?

Yes its a stock muffler.
What will happen if the cats go?
I don't know if I could get it removed.
We have to do an annual MOT and if the cats are not there that could be a problem.

If the cats were going, what signs/symptoms would the car be getting?
Could it not be an electical problem ? Faulty electronic detection?

I have a cat too! It doesn't have a name...

Do you have 4 cats or 2? Are the cats located right off the headers or before the muffler? The cats start to desintegrate, causing excessive back pressure. Pieces can get back into the motor. I would take them off. If you have to, once a year put them back on for your inspection. Also dump the muffler, very heavy, causes lots of heat.

Take the wing off, and exhaust cover. 5 minutes to do and youll be able to see.

It's was a pretty close rase between Holden, Ferrari, and the Diablo. I watched for about 40 minutes, and the Diablo kept number 1 place the entire time.

Diablo Gt, the SV seats, or most Diablo seats are like race buckets, race seats do not adjust.
