whats the differences between the 99 and 2000+ U.S. P11s other than the roller rocker motors? would you recommend the 99's or 00+'s? is the driving different between the two motors?

these are the differences which the 2000 has that I know of (and can remember are...)
-roller rocker cams
-different exhaust system
-larger MAF
-trunk release on dash (not next to seat)
-different gear ratio (1st and 2nd is faster)
-Infiniti vehicle immobilizer
-different rear bumper (has a larger cutout for exhaust)

The intake manifold is a little different too. Not sure what effect it has...

The touring model can be in cloth or Leather, that was 2000, but then i think in 2001 they put leather in touring
2000
you can get the touring package=spoiler, sunroof, LSD, fog light...
leather package=leather seats, door trim
in 2001 they combined the two

2000+ - 2 less counterweights on crank, new pistons, no girdle and of course roller rockers and camshafts.

Well, putting on weight isn't always bad if you work out at the gym too, and as you all know the G20 hasn't spent much time in the gym.

It went it in for a couple Pilates sessions in 2000 but kept eating too many cheeseburgers! ;)

I don't think the transmission magically became more efficient.

The 99 and older SR20's were factory rated at 140HP and the 2000 and newer SR20's were rated at 145HP. This is not "bhp". BHP is brake horsepower, which is similar in results to WHP, wheel horsepower.
WHP is figured by how much force is needed to spin a roller "drum" on a dyno. BHP is figured by how much force is needed to stop the roller which a car is spinning on the dyno. Inertia dynos and brake dynos work in opposite ways but tend to yeild the same results.
Now, about the 2000+ cars. I think I recall SCC stating that they put 2 or 3 whp more. And just for the record, the trannies on the 2000+ cars are geared differently. ;)

It's been dyno proven by SCC that there is a difference of 8whp between the '99 and '00 SR20DE. Again, a lot of this is credited to less friction and the new valvetrain.

June 2000 SCC comparing the different gens of SR20DE. It's in the new evaluation of the 2000 Sentra SE.
