What can I do to my G20?

I just bought a 1992 Infiniti G20. It has 145,000 miles on it. I know it has an exaust leak, but would would be better to do... go ahead and put headers on it or (bc too many miles) just replace the gasket? I want to put headers, exaust, and a K&N on it, but I was just wondering was it worth spending the money since it has such high milage? It's a 5-speed, and the way I figure it with a few mods it'll really getty up! Thanx :thinkerg:

ewe should probably do an engine swap for an SR20DET. sport compact car just published an article about it december 2001, very detailed. 205 hp and less miles then. then get a nice quiet exhaust.

Don't worry about the mileage. If the engine has been reasonably well cared for and revved enough (the SR20 engine needs to be revved to about 4k+ regularly to keep oil passages clean). You can check the general condition by removing the valve cover.
A friend in CA has a engine with over 225k miles that lays down very respectable quarter mile times and hp on the dyno. This engine will last a long time with regular oil changes and enough revs regularly.

Thats good to hear... Thought all my high rev driving was hurting my engine but I guess not. :D

All those things can be removed, swapped or sold if your motor bites it. It's worth it. :D
