Cooling problem...big trouble!

Man this is suuck! one of my radiator hose is blow up on me today, causing the cooling splashing every where in my engine bay...it was the big hose on the driver side, before this happening, i don't know why! but i feel the cooling is not flowing around the system! cuz everytime i either slow down or stuck at the traffic...my water temp gauge start rising all the way up...
but once the car start runnning smoothly... the water temp gauge start going back to normal!
i was wonder! do you guys think my water pump is dead causing all these problem!!! and i'm sure there is no sign of leak on any area around the water pump...
please help me out guys! what else i need to look for!
do you think is the water pump!
