Le Car goes out with a bang!

Today, I mourn the death of my 1978 Renault. The little R5 gave up the ghost just as I was exitting the highway, on my way home from the VOTG show. It overheated and blew the head gasket, sadly the temperature warning light was not functioning to tell me that all was not well. I was actually getting off of the highway, because I didn't want to run the little engine so hard in such hot weather, I guess I got off a little too late though...
Sad, but I'm selling it, I'll finally have enough money to finnish the mechanical portion of the Subaru 360's restoration and get it registered, so at least that's some good news.

Renaults have a habit of doing that.... Breaking down I mean.


Ah well, at least with the Subaru 360 it's a more meaningful process.

No, I won't fix it. I already had a family member put it on ebay for me. So now I just have to wait to get it pulled home. And yes, the 360 will be my primary transport - for the summer, I'll be getting another car before winter.

Le cars arnt so rare, i see a few driving around my house sometimes

Counting mine, I've seen three in the past two years. And mine was the only one registered, the other two were rotting in people's driveways, and were also the later post '79 models. So I'd say the pre '80 ones are relatively rare.
