Front End Conversion

i was lloking at the other post, and the conversion was of a 94+ teg on a 4th gen civic....well the body lines did not compliment each other whatsoever in my opinion. so i was thinking an earlier teg' swap (90' maybe) would look good....maybe even a type R one.....anyone got pics of this? or any links? thanks

I am doing 92-95 civic projector headlights on my crx, with a molded eye brow. I purchased the lights on eBay already (goto ebay and search for 92 civic projector tyc). Those lights are really sharp.

Incase, you were wondering, I have over 100 hand-picked CRX pictures on my computer. Yes, I have a CRX fetish.

and the JDM ITR one is the only way to go in my opinion. Even though the 99-00 civic lights do look good.

The 92 civic headlights are good with a hood-molded eye brow. I photoshopped one and it looks suprisingly good. I was originally going to go with the japan itr headlights, but they are big $$$ and they aren't chome.

just curious on how u did your eyebrows? i wanna mould some on my stock civic but i dunno how i should do them, should i just weld a triangle of metal on the hood over the light? lemme know how u did it cuz i wanna do it before i get the car painted and stuff, thanx man :)

I haven't started it yet, but I'm actually making an entire custom fiberglass hood, so the eyebrows aren't going to be a big deal at all, I'll just include them in my fiberglass mold.

If I was using metal though, I'm not sure how I would do it. I know you are probably going to want to attach a thin piece of rubber or foam to the backside of the eyebrow region of the hood, or else you will scratch your headlights when you slam your hood down.

Also, the rubber will make the hood look tighter to the headlight, so it will look less like a rig.

Don't weld a triangle over the light. Give the piece that you weld on to your the hood some curvature, so that it arcs down hard as the curve moves closer to the center of the body (like the pic of that crx I posted)

ok, well i've seen some eyebrows on our cars that are triangular like and they look friggin wild, so i think i might do that instead, would u recommend welding them on? and where would u put the foam? on the bottom of the eyebrow?

Either way, weld the triangle on the face of the hood so that it is protruding - like sitting intop of the hood. Its hard to explain without a picture.
Once that is done, spray everything with epoxy primer. Once that dries, fill in around the metal with bondo, and the epoxy primer on that. Then paint.
The metal has to be sitting away from the headlight so that it doesn't scrape.
The rubber would have to be roughly the same shape as your metal cut-out piece, and would be mounted on the back of it, so that there is a barrier between the metal and the plastic on the headlight.

Man, never seen most of those....and gotta say S2000 tails rock in that CRX....makes me wish I chose them for my conversion...But I say the ITR are the best
