RX8 Tranny in an FC

Anybody know if the RX8 tranny would fit in an fc. If the bolt pattern was the same and the input shaft fit up I think it would work... although it might take some cutting to fit it in there as far as the floor pans go. But if anybody know more or knows of someone who has done it please let me know!

I'm guessing you wanna do this for the 6-speed tranny? well sorry but I have no clue... just wondering exactly why your asking :)

dont quote me on this, but if i remeber right... i dont think that the 8 trannys are insanely strong. I'll have to cheak up on it.

The FC tranny isn't exactly known to be strong either. However I've heard the bolt pattern is NOT the same.

I don't know if this is true either, but i've heard that you can take the six speed from the special edition miatas... but once again, not so strong.

to answer the begged question... yes im looking for that infamous sixth gear... not only for better ratios but for better streetablity. My car revs pretty high at 65 mph (with that 4.30 rear what do you expect) well if i cant find a tranny then ill most likly put in a 3.90 or 4.10 for street and reinstall the 4.30 for drag, track, and rice smoking ocations (really want a six speed though so i dont have to change the rear gear and i have to change trannys anyway

Many of us dream of the mystical 4.30 LSD rear end. I suggest you keep yours. ;)

coming from rx7club.com, the TII trannies are capable of handling over 500hp.... I wouldnt exactly say that isnt strong.
