My question is will a d16 with stock internals survive with direct port 80 shot? All i have now is i/h/e, but i'm planning on upgrading fuel and ignition. What types of ignition is reccomended with NOS? If any of you have a similar setup i'd like to hear how it is working for you

get it, just get a fuel pump, slightly larger injectors, and a fuel controller and you're set. You don't need an aftermarket ignition system, but would be helpful...I've only had experince with MSD, so all I can tell you is that they're good in my book...

do you run the direct port system or do you just know somebody that does...

What i'm really looking for here is someone that has had a d16 that's been running the direct port 80 shot for awhile and can testify that they haven't had many or any problems

I would suggest a 50shot to be on the safe side since your car is basicly stock, and I would use ZEX and not NOS.

I know you're supposed to use the 50% rule. However much hp your car has stock, you use 50% of that. You have 130hp, so you should be able to use a 60 shot safely. I'm not making this up, it was actually on a NOS brochure that I received. I'm not sure what their website is, but you can probably find it there under FAQ. I would think that an 80 shot would be a bit too much. My friend has a 97 Prelude w/ i/h/e, cam gears, pulleys, VAFC and she ran a 100 shot and hasn't messed up her car. Anyway I'd use the 50% rule. Let me know how it turns out b/c I've got the same car.

I've heard the 50% rule before too, but i wanna push it. Sorry Marc, but I've heard too many bad things about zex. The d16 is supposed to be pretty tough at handling FI... I guess I'll find out after I get my tax returns :)

walboro 255 low pressure, and 270 or 290 injectors(5gen prelude injectors work wonders)...

80 shot direct port is asking for it on stock components. Do yourself a favor and upgrade your ignition & fuel components FIRST. You might say you'll be easy on the until you upgrade, but you won't. The juice is too addictive.

MSD makes great components for ignition. Look at the MSD 6AL ignition. As far as fuel goes, AEM makes decent components. Check out RC injectors.
