random part in car

i have a 1987 ford mustang gt and i have no idea what this part is next to the engine block.... the part # is E4DP-14A099-AA does anyone have any idea what this could be..... PLEASE HELP!!!!!

uhh... some pics and descripion of this "part" is needed. if you supply that info then you will get your answer.

i have no pics but a description... there are 2 of them that r on a clip that clip on to the back of the intake manifold closest to the firewall uhh.. next to the egr valve. one is black and 1 is white and they both have a bunch of wires at the top and bottom and the top has a clip.

also...what is the propper degree of timming and how would you adjust the air fuel ratio??

If you wanna start gettin into stocheometry then I'd say you need to get rid of the map and get mass. Im not the best to talk to about computers but from what I understand mass makes those adjustments for you, as far as adjustments for altitude, ambient air density, ect ect.

the parts you're talking about are the 10-pin connectors that mount to the back of the intake. their purpose is to link the computer with the motor. you're not going anywhere without them.

to adjust a/f ratio you need to convert to mass air and get a programmable chip for your powertrain management computer. a popular mod is a Tweecer, which (i think) plugs into a laptop or a small handheld deal and allows you to change and monitor a multitude of parameters in the motor, such as stoichiometry, ignition timing curves, and other such things. another great one is a Speedbrain(?), which is no longer in production sadly enough.
