Question for australians about rego ...

I want to buy a 1997 200sx - but its in another state. What do i have to do to get everything done properly?


I am aware that the car has to be taken and checked out by NSW RTA or something like that - any can gime the low down?

Hey,
I am a Pink Slip & AUVIS Blue Slip inspector besides also being a mechanic and if you are bringing the car into NSW from another state, then this is what you will need...
Get proof of ownership established and try and get proof of that the person you bought the car off bought it legitimately also. You will need to find a 'blue slip inspector in your locality) and make a appointment for them to view your car. You will need the car to be returned to near standard mechanically, we have all the vehicle specs on file but it really depends on who performs the work as to what they wil allow. First inspection will set you back about $60 and if you have any repairs to make, the second inspection is free.
