So, I bought my first Bimmer back in December (a 2000 323i) and I've been modifying it with just the factory options since then. I've managed to get an alarm (installed by the dealer), the wood trim (installed by me) and now a CD Changer and the mounting equipment. Getting the whole changer rig set up in the trunk was no problem and the plugs are pretty obvious, but since the car was used I didn't get the radio manual.... I'm rather embarassed to admit it, but I can''t figure out how to get the changer to work. I don't seem to have an input option on the head unit anywhere. Do I need the dealer to change something so that it recognizes the changer is in place or, or a new head unit, or is it easier than that? Thanks for any help y'all can give....

use your cd button to switch from single cd in dash then press again it will switch to changer if you want to g0 to a different cd in changer you push the memory buttons ie 1thru6 i believe

Cool! I appreciate the tip. I had tried that before (as well as everyhting else I could think of) so now I have to figure out what's wrong with the changer or the wiring. Thanks again!

Pressing the CD button on the head unit is what switches back and forth between the in-dash CD and the Changer. Thanks for the tip. Switching the fuse on the changer to one that isn't burned out is what makes it work so that the car recognizes the changer is there.

We've learned something new today kids. Fix the easy stuff first, then go running to the boards for help *grin*
