Water in Engine?

Like many mechanics have told me: washing your engine is perfectly fine, just wait for it to air out.
So I decided to spray my engine down with degreaser and then scrub it out with a brush and hose it down. I did this, let the car sit overnight. When I came out the next morning to drive it it sounded normal. Then when I started to drive it, I get this puttering sound and feeling everytime I step on the gas. Anyway to determine whether it is water in the engine?
I have another feeling it could be my spark plugs. But I'm not sure. This sucks! I have lighting problems and now this.

Sounds like the leads are loose.

Leads to what? Spark Plugs?
I checked those yesterday too. But I didn't check the plugs.

Funny, I have the same sound coming from my engine. Today I bumped the tip of my muffler into a curb while parking and the noise started. It happens only when it is in gear and the engine is running above 1500 rpm. I can rev the engine in neutral and nothing happens. I noticed the same type of noise before only after driving through a big puddle, but that would end soon after. Now (after bumping the muffler) the noise doesn't stop...
Anyone have suggestions as to what is making the noise?

you can try to check the spark plug cable & the distributor, maybe there are still water trapped in there. wipe the water or you can try to spray the connection with WD40.
