It will go where where the cassette player fits in at the center a/c vents. Easy install, but looks really outta place. Radio will stick out an inch or two even with correct install kit. Install kit has to be painted to match. The part of the factory radio next to the guages is just a controller for the unti that is mounted vertically under the dash.

Hello, Concerning the stereo install, I have a 91 and yes fairly easy install, as the other poster said, center dash, if you dont have a factory tape player, 'as mine did not' where the rectangular tray is, below the vents, basicly pull the bottom first top second, no mechanical fastners, just pull.
It is indeed the only "indash" place to install.
Though I didnot experience the same problems as the other poster did, my pioneer fit perfectly "though tightly", I have to be sure to manuver and place wire'ing so not to block the back of the unit, on mine the trim ring that came with my unit was all that was needed, and fits perfectly against the dash, "no gap between dash and stereo face plate.
I used the piece I cut out of the back of the tray to patch a piece in next to the stereo to make everything match and look clean.
Hope this helps, good luck

Not sure if this will help as I am in Canada. I went to a stereo install shop and for about $30.00 Can. I bought an intall kit in the color of my interior. It is made to fit and has a nice custom spacer in case (like mine) your stereo is a little wider and sticks out. The color matches almost exact (my truck was faded slightly) and you just pop your vents out of your original panel and into the new one.

They are out there and make a nice looking job.
