questions on auto diagnostics

howdy yall
i recently acquired r32 gts25 and ran auto diagnostics posted in SDU and some other forums and not too sure of some of the outcomes.
apparently i have 5 speed auto and it has P-R-N-D-3-2 shift pattern with '1' push button near '2' shift position. I cant follow the instructions per SDU because at to enter diagnostics i have to move the selector to '1'. So i went on and treated 3 as 2 and 2 as 1 and it looked like im in the diagnostics mode. Trouble is i got 1 long flash followed by 11 short flashes, while SDU posts says 10 short flashes mean everything is fine.
it d be appreciated if anyone has similar experiences and clarify this for me.
