Alright fellas i have come to the decision to do an engine for a jdm sti motor as opposed to a turbo kit for my 2000 ej25. I've done some looking into this and it seems like the actual engine swap is not too difficult, however the electrical is well... a bitch. I've found a place to do the electrical work. Has anyone done this conversion? If so how did you guys make out? Any suggestions on where to get a new sti motor?? Thanks

Jay!

STi Ver 7 & 8 Crate motors, only $9k each:

Quite a package, but arguably not cost-effective.

The USDM STi EJ257 shortblocks are allegedly available from several sources for under $1500.

Highly recommend you spend 3 days (if not more; I spend weeks at a time...) reading the Subaru Conversions forum over at NASIOC (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&forumid=87).
