I have a Kenwood powered subwoofer tube and wanted to know if I could connect a more powerful Alpine external amp to it and run the speakers off the new amp?
Can it be done and/or is there anything I should know about doing this?

yes you can, but you'll need to find an opening to run the wire to the subwoofer.

I have speaker level inputs on the subwoofer, can't I just connect the amp to them?

the speaker level input for the amp, not the sub. you'll need to find a way to connect the amp's + and - to the sub + and -
