The Ralliart is 162hp/162tq naturally aspirated and it's nearly as fast as the SRT-4. Why not save money, get the Ralliart, have a unique original car that's pretty rare, and save some money while you're at it.

I wouldn't recommend a Cavalier to anyone. Trust me it'd be a step down from your Corolla. Sentra is ok but I still would keep a Corolla over that. So basically your choices are SRT-4 or Lancer unless you've considered anything else.

I'm not sure about the pricing on the SRT-4. One reason I prefer the Ralliart is it has the least torque steer it seems, out of all the higher powered FWD cars.

jesus, what am I saying.. FWD. *shutter*

get an AWD/RWD car! :D

The Spec-V is ok, pretty good value and is the closest competitor to the Ralliart. The RSX-S you will pay for out the nose and it's not really anything special. On the highway my friend was keeping up fine with an RSX-S... so I wouldn't spend the money for that.

Out of your choices, I'd pick the Spec V. You get tons for your money. Comes with 17" rims too. Good sound system, pretty comfortable ride for a sporty car. Base price is something like CAD$21k just like the Ralliart. So your payments will be CAD$300-350 per month (lease). If you get the RSX-S your payments will be At least CAD$450-500 per month (lease).

Not to mention the insurance.

The Ralliart is nowhere close to the SRT-4 in performance. The SRT-4 is nearly two seconds faster to 60mph, on average. It's probably almost on par with a WRX.
The MSRP for the '04 SRT-4 is around $21k. The '03s were abour $20k, but the '04s are higher because of a power increase and the addition of a Quaife lsd.
corolla99, if you're selling your 'Rolla, the money'll be put to better use on an SRT-4. You won't be disappointed with the performance. If that's all you care about, get it.

A loaded Spec V might be a bit less, but depending on what you're looking for, you could find performance a bit lacking. The NISMO parts will help(a bit costly, though), and that'll put the Spec V about on par with a Mazdaspeed Protege. As a typical Nissan, resale value probably isn't too hot. The Spec V is a great value, but it was one of the first to the market. Some might think it's a bit dates, and other cars are starting to outclass it.

You won't get a Ralliart or RSX-S for 11K. -Maybe- a used Spec-V.

But if you want something "nicer" or faster/sportier... you pretty much have to go used. Don't get discouraged though, for the price of a new $16k car you can get a used one only 1-2 years old, much nicer usually. A car that was $20k would probably be about $16k after 2 years. Look for that...

man chosing a car is a pain in the ass i think i need to go out and start test driving some of these things and let that make the decision cause hp and torque changes once it reaches those wheels so lets see how the actually go
