Interior Idea

I have a 98 eclipse and i found the backseat to be pretty useless. I was thinking about taking it out and putting one seat in the middle and putting a custom speakerbox around it. Anybody ever tried this before...or does anyone think its a bad idea?

Im not sure why i like the idea myself. I just thought it would be different. I definantly want to do something in the back but not sure what yet.

The one seat idea isn't too bad. definitely original! You could do some fun fiberglassing around it. maybe even add a cupholder! haha. Whatever you go with I"m sure it'll be better than the stock buckets....

Then you could have it facing the hatch, the put a TV and PS2 back there

ok its a good idead depending on if you want a fast ride..ripping the backseat out and puting a speaker box back there would add prob round 200lbs.leaving the seat alone which is prob 10lbs would make a big diff..so whether your into speed or sound thats your choice

I've never seen a speakerbox that weighs 200 lbs. I am going to take out my backseat to put in a public pool and charge $5 to swim.:sunglasse Oh wait....how big is the back again?:eek7:

Nevermind.

well if he makes it all around the back seat depending on if its wood or what it will weight more than the back seat no matter what he uses ..thats the point i was trying to get to

Well, I don't think the eclipse one looks THAT bad. It's quite original and looks very nice, but there is something about it that just looks a bit off.. I don't know what it is though.

Ha ha that integra is friggin hilarious, But i deffinatly dig the middle back seat idea i think that it would look awsome if you layed some fiberglass right. One prob you might want to look out for is how would they get in? I think if you set everthing back at an angle it might rid your self of the this but whatever you do good luck!
