Front End options

My front end is sagging lower than my grandma in an up elevator. I was going to give the torsion bars some turns to bring it back up but I was wondering:

Are there any other means to raise the front end short of going to a lift kit (suspension or body)?

Not really - you can replace the t-bars with some heavy duty ones, which don't need to be cranked as much to give you the same amount of lift you have (or had).

i added the Nismo bars and KYB shocks to simply stabilize my front end and keep it from saggin under the weight of the ARB and winch. i didn't so much care about lifting the front end beyond what i had before i added all the weight ont here in december. plus the ride quality is VASTLY improved. the ride difference is night and day for me.

Hmm, not to much about KYB shocks on XOC; my search turned up a review from someone (wbroadus) in MAXC. Has anyone gotten a chance to compare the KYB (Monotubes(?)) with the Bilsteins with an ARB & winch up front?
I'm just curious right now. I have an ARB/winch/RS9000s up front & I'm planning on replacing the torsion bars in <=2 months and wondering if I should deep 6 the RS9000s in favor of KYB, Bilsteins, or even Tokico if they come out with an Xterra-specific model in the near future.

you have the RS9000s in the rear right? no reason to deep six those, they are still fine. it is the front that needs the help. i got the KYBs up front and they are AWESOME. i have yet to bottom them out, and i have been trying to on purpose. with the new nismo bars and KYBs, the ride is way smoother. that combo handles the weight of the ARB and winch with little effort. I tested them yesterday in DC on road and today on Pennsylvania roads, and anyone who has driven on DC or Penn roads know what i am talking about. my tessth were not ajrring out of my head as they did with the stock shocks. and even more importantly when hitting pot holes, they recovered nicely. and those Pennsylvania washboard roads were little felt unlike normally. dimished effect of that standard seasick causeing bounce.

as for offroad, i have yet to test that part. :( ECXC will be the first time. but Will (wbroadus) has been out with his setup. he tested them up in the pine barrens a few weeks ago and at the NissanNet run in Kentucky. he and I have the same setup, nismo bars, KYBs up front, ranchos in back, ARB, winch.

I have yet to ride in anyones truck with the Bilstiens up front. I need to get over to kennedy's, because he does have em, but no winch. so we see some of the difference. him an ed britt are the only ones i know of that have them around me. I imagine ECXC will be a great test for all these mods.

Due to the rave reviews for the Bilsteins (& I think they have a model that works well w/the bumper&winch-laden front end) it may be come down to price and availability determining which ones I go with.
At least now I have more than one to choose from....

also, the main reason that you haven't heard much about the KYBs on XOC is that from what I know, only Will and myself are running them, mobycat soon to be also, and Will and I rarely read XOC anymore. actually Will never really read that board much to begin with and I am sooooooo tired of wading through all the chaff on that board. i stop by there maybe once every few days, read a few threads in perhaps 3-5 forums tops and then come here or the unofficial board.
