have a '95 grand ch. that will go thru the gears if you manually move the gear selector from 1 to 2 to drive etc. does not shift down by itself either. also the truck starts out in drive or overdrive. heard this could be linked to throttle pos. sensor etc.
someone help me out. the automatic tranny seems fine mechanically speaking. guessing electrical???
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm having a similar problem with my 95 Jeep GC. Only mine is somewhat intermittent. Sometimes it starts up and runs fine. Other times it starts up and only allows engagement of 2nd and 3rd gears, manually-- like yours. I'm researching this and will post again when I find a solution. Good Luck

HI YOU MEAN THAT IF YOU UT IT IN DRIVE IT GOES BUT DOESN'T UP SHIFT OR DOWN SHIFT ON ITS OWN. CHECK THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR THERE ARE DUAL SENSORS ON THE AUTOMATICS ONE FOR THROTTLE THE OTHER SIGNALS THE TCU ON TRANS TO SHIFT DALE [email protected]
