So I noticed that there have been a couple of posts about this, but none of the questions were the price range I was looking at. They were either like under 1G or like 15G. My range is more like something under 4 or 5 grand. I want a nice looking car that I can add things on eventually like stereo and system and rims and not feel dumb for "pimping out" and old ugly car. Most importantly it has to be reliable and cheap to repair. I was thinking of like a mid 90's accord or civic. I had a 93 accord that had 200,000 miles on it when I gave it to my parents and it still runs strong after getting it for only 2G and paying 800 in engine maintance.

Yeah, get an old Accord or Camry. They can actually look fairly nice with a well-designed kit, and they are reliable and roomy.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of a 4 dr. If not a 4 dr its got to be roomy and have some head room. I'm 6'3  . I'm going ot have to see whats available in my area. I'm prob going to get flamed on this, but are VW's or Kia's known as reliable. I know Kia's are pretty damn cheap and can look nice, but I havent heard anything of how reliable they are.

I don't know much bout VW's..tried lookin up on em abit, but not really my personal favourite so didn't bother :P
the Kia is cheaper car true, good ride...however power wise, handling and comfort it's lacking a fair bit when compared to the competition
the new Rio comes with stock 1.5L, 71kW, 132Nm and tryin to thrash it wud be bad idea!! suspension is very hard/stiff as well as the body so even a slightly rough road will cause alot of annoyance...
there are other specs on it and if u wana read up more http://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/reviews/reviewstory.asp?ID=4971
theres a bit of info there, but personally i wudn't choose the Rio if not for anything than for the fact that there are better options out there
but again, that's my personal opinion:P
good luck!!
