Anyone from California? Need ref pics of 'Highway1'

Hi all,

as you can see in my sig, I'm now busy with the beetle and caravan. Both will be on a diorama and the theme is:

"Mr X and Mrs X stopped on a parking lot along the road and having a picnic".

So, i'll have to create all the camping accesories: table, chairs, ... That's not a problem but my real problem is: Where will be this road?

I was thinking about South of France or Italy but why not California. The best american state for Vw lovers :sunglasse
I'm in Europe, so it's difficult for me to know the good places and beautiful roads in California. But, thanks to my english teacher, Lawrence Mc Guire (novelist, folk singer and english teacher for our company), who gave me the idea. He traveled a lot around USA and told me about the 'Highway One'. Very nice road along the sea with lots of curves

I searched through internet to find good pics, and found some, but I still need better pics.

What I really need:

- pics of a parking lot to see what kind of fences are used
- pics of signs (typical for this road)
- pics of a sign announcing the Hearst Castle (http://www.hearstcastle.com) , historical monument reachable from this road.
- good pics of the landscape to capture colors

Excellent choice! I've driven it once, almost 3 years ago now, and it really is one of the most beautiful views in the world.

I don't think I have any pics, but I can help you with all manner of Caifornia road sign. :) And I'll see what else I can find on the 'net and send you some links. :bigthumb: Search also for the name "pacific coast highway" and you'll find even more...
