Some people want all of us to not buy gas on May 19th. The idea is that if a significant number of people do not buy gas on that day, that the US oil producers will understand that we, the US consumer< are fed up with their price goughing.
What can it hurt?
I won't buy any gas next Wed.

This is one of those urban legends. None of the major gas companies are going to care about one day unless they look out there office windows and see everyone riding bicycles, horses, or electric cars

It's not going to make a flipping difference. No matter what, we are dependant on fuel. We have to have it. In germany they pay the equivilant of $4 a gallon, and I thought we were high!!!

Well I guess you told ME!!
But I still say that ANY display of displeasure is better than doing nothing.
And I REALLY liked being considered an idiot for posting this. So much for polite discussion.

didn't mean to make you seem like an idiot. I just wanted to say that it wouldn't matter. They got us by the balls! :D

I sure agree that they have us by the short hairs. But any show of displeasure is better than just taking it. IMHO
I am not naive enough to believe that we can MAKE them do anything. But I believe public opinion is important to these people. They are spending a lot of money spinning their lies about why the price is still going up.

Well I'm braving the flamers here, but here in Indiana the gas stations lowered their gas prices by at least 10 cents on Wednesday. And the Indianapolis Star said that most stations were NEAR normal with these lower prices.
It looks to me that the gas companies were at least paying a LITTLE attention. Why else would the price come down just on Wed?
And no I didn't take advantage on Wed of the lower prices. But I DID get to a station on Thur before they got their prices back up! :lol2:
