Only two things to look for when purchasing coilover sleeves. The names Ground Control or Skunk2.

Do not get skunk 2, Harsh ass ride. ground controls are about the same price and a much better product. Are you only concidering sleeves, or are you concidering true coils as well?

they are harsh because they use a stiffer spring rate. More performance oriented than the Ground Controls.

Exactly true!
Both ar same quality pretty much, but Skunk2's are for more aggressive handling while G/C's are for a more comfortable ride.
Beware though, I've seen pics of G/C's (which are the best) that were split in half up the sleeve shaft after hititng a pothole. This won't happen on true full coilovers like Tein. Like always said, you get what you pay for. Happy motoring. :)

You can get differnt spring rating for ground controls though. I to would say if he got the money get some true coils. I invested in a set of tien SS's about 3 weeks ago and I love em. love the dampening adjustability!

im just looking for the sleeves not something way out there in price.
But really what i wanted to know is what is a good coil over made of. The material the company uses for the parts of the coil over?? Like what the best company uses?
Also, What do you look for in the outcome of coil overs. The ride height, ride comfort, long lasting, ware.

And like I said, you get what you pay for when it comes to suspension. This is true with even sleeves. They cost WAY less than true coils, so you do the math.
What are the BEST sleeves (Ground Controls) made out of you ask? Well something crappy enough to cause this to happen (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=217646).

those are GC imitations, he says it himself. My friend had GC's on his 92 Teg. Never had a problem with them and they made the car handle so much better. Really nice ride too, not much stiffer than stock, but got the job done.

I have yet to see GC immitations. But fake or not, I still would never put sleeve coilovers on my car.
