I tried getting mine sponsered at www.needsponsors.com. It worked on my SpecV but I have not heard a damn thing since I sent my application in for my Z five months ago. I think they are basically looking for newer, "ricey" cars instead of 'classics' like the Z32.....
Incidently... I did not think I would get sponsored with my Sentra but I got a $10K sponsorship in the mail a few months later.... sadly I was in the middle of selling the car! :banghead:

Wow, we are dealing with a literary and conversational master here...
Anyway, since extra money is always handy, how are these sponsorships usually set up? Do they have only certain suppliers that you have to buy and display from or is more of a heres-some-cash-make-a-show-car-and-put-our-name-on-it type of thing? I can't imagine that they would just fork over money without alot of assurance that you could be really useful to them.

Well 1via apparently has dealt with this place before and knows that they give out standarized amounts...I don't really know anything about that so I'm not going to say either way...then you say that you'll prove him wrong and your next post after that is

which doesn't really prove anything except that, frankly, for some one who doesn't care, you're getting pretty bent out of shape. Good that you can get all the parts you need, the more exposure the aftermarket gets the cheaper things will become and all the more events that will be planned. Maybe some day I can get sponsored too.

Well not to get in the middle of this lovely little High School fight or anything but doesnt anyone REALLY KNOW a lot of detail about getting sponsored? Does your car have to be a certain way already. Do you yourself, have to have certain talent. Can you just walk up to any sponsor and say, gimme money, im broke? Hows it all go down?

I would be interested in sponsorship but I have no interest in a show car (body kits and neon and all that needless waste) nor do I want to strip this thing out to make it a serious race car. Not that there is enough events of either kind in my area to rate sponsorship.

....They may have changed their amounts.... but last time I had contact with them... it was $5k, $10k, and $25k. There were also two types of sponsorship, a partial and a full sponsorship. Did you mention that, team redline z? They do take refferals and this benifits the refferer somehow... but in which way, I forgot. After they decide if your car is worthy, they send you a packet which contains a list of the Parts Manufacturers that are participating, a RACER-X MotorSports Sticker, a promise of a free DVD and a legal documents... mainly concerning that you must agree to participate in at least 5 or 6 (?) carshows or race events while displaying sponsor stickers. I did not get past this point... but I was approved for the "partial-sponsership" (meaning they give you parts... but you pay for shipping and installation) of $10k. I think you have to agree to a two year contract... I have to find that packet. When I applied I was really just applying so I could be entered to win a Free Skyline... I'm not sure if they are still doing that.
Well, team redline z.... if you really have a sponsorship then I am surprised! I figured they would pick a Civic over a Z... but I guess you were lucky, huh? All you have is a body-kit? With a 12k sponsorship I would have gotten that TT motor, buddy. Did you get that free DVD by the way? Refer me! I'm no trailer queen though!
Oh-yeah... BTW... mine was with RACER-X Motor Sports... not that SCP Company. Did they change this? Or is this the same Company???

alright glad were at an undertsanding.i do have a partial-sponsorship and its at least 4 events a year.im surprised they picked me also.i really just wanted that free dvd. but when i heard they are sponsoring me i nearly shit myself.im building a race car not a show.but i do want my z to look nice so a body kit, rims an so carbon goodies i add.not too fancy tho.im doing the conversion beacaue 1. i wanted to completly rebuild the engine anyway and replace the internals and 2 i want to learn more about the whole engine im going to school for technician and i wanna learn as much as i can about my own car and that i feel is the best way.umm i think scp and racer-x may either be the same company or both working together. scp may the big man and racer-x be the little. or something liek that. they havnt told me how i am suppose to refer yet. but once i find out i will refer you guys. i love Z's and hope to see more out there.and as for you broke_as... its either race or show, you can still max your na out if you want and still win some comps.but its up to you.

If my car ever for some reason was to be sponsored what are the chances of it being able to be driven street legal? id like it to be sponsored for race but i want a slick stock look just fast as hell engine.

slick stock look it all you want. this is "street racing style" just us all street legal parts and go out to import race events and show off your car. all yo have to do is show off the decals gotta use decals.part of contract.

Crazy pics. yeah i dont mind decals but i like the fact when i pull up to people with my stock looking car (aside from the front end), with bondo on it now from the body work, they think im gonna blow up when i try to go. Its funny to watch them cry missing gears, stalling and so forth as my little "sleeper" goes off in the distance. Even better when their girl is in the car checking out the Z cause she goes "Wow, what kind of car is that!" Dont kids get tired of civics. Guess i wouldnt cause for 10k i could make it a 10second car haha...k im stopping the rambling now. see ya all

its either race or show
Thats what I mean, I don't want some really flashy ride filled with needlessly trick parts to win shows (I know you dont' have to go that far but damn it if I'm going to do something its going to be all the way). And I don't want to strip it down to bones and rebuild the entire thing as a race car because 1, that would be ruining a damn fine set of black leather and 2, even with sponsorship I don't have the time, money or desire to run something as high level as a 300ZX TT. I've done some cart racing, little 15 horse six speed shifter carts that will hit 80 on the straights and would own a Ferrari in the corners and that was fun and fairly cheap as racing goes. Turn key, ready to go setup cost you a few grand and you can run a whole summer on 1-2 thousand all totalled up which is about as cheap as you will ever get on the track for. And in Western Washington there just isn't enough shows or races to really justify spending so much time and effort on either type of car.
you can still max your na out
Mine's a TT and I can't imagine having anything else. :D
Although...those two engine bay shots got about half the stuff in them as my Z...
