Front Bearings

Has anyone replaced the front wheel bearings on a '97 (or around there)? If so, was it difficult, and did you need any special tools or equipment?

It requires a special bearing/hub remover tool (VW 265a) or access to a press & several collars. Not an easy job for in the back yard, I'd get a Bentley manual to see what all is involved.
