Evo waiting list...

I called my local Mitsu dealer in LI, NY today and asked about the Evo. The guy said it is comming in about 9 months but he has no details about anything. He also said that there are already 6 people who have put a $500 reservation including him. He told me to get on the list asap if I want one. He has been following the Evo since the very 1st one and he reads everything about it. When I go to drop off my deposit, he is giving me a copy of some articles and a British magazine that rated the Evo VII the #1 car.

Also, he said this same thing happened in '91 with the Mitsubishi 3000GT. A lot of people were putting deposits down because dealers knew there would be a shortage.

Call up a dealer and see if they are accepting deposits NOW if you really want this car!!

The deposit is not binding in any way...if you decide you don't want the car, just go get your deposit back...

i wish i could put down a deposit, most dealers by me are just setting up lists now though!!!! :mad:

Where in Jersey are you? I am 25 miles from Manhattan. If you want the name of the dealer I called is Wantagh Mitsubishi. They said they are the biggest dealer in the "area" and they got the most 3000GT's in '91 out of all the dealers in the area.

I got one one in my area yesterday, and I'll be giving them about $1000 in the next two weeks to reserve it. I'll put down a more substantial deposit one we know the release date, but I don't wanna get dicked outta my EVO just 'cuz I wasn't on the ball...

dammit what is wrong with these stupid nj mitsu people!!! they need to get with the program bc i will do anything for my evo. mug a little old lady? ok. rob a bank? sure. sell my sister? how much you want?prostitute myself? name the time and place. hehe jk about those last two. :D but seriously, i am so desperate for this car and i have MORONS to deal with. that is so not fair :( anyways, i am in ocean county, nj (right by six flags great adventure) i should be able to get some info from one of the dealers soon though, i did call like 12 hehe. i am gonna hang in there for a little while and see if anyone contacts me. but thanks anyways :)

What was your line of questioning? what did you ask the dealers? Just if you could find some way to get on the reserve list for the EVO VII?

I called up and said exactly this: Hi, do you have any info on the Lancer Evolution? The guy said well it was supposed to come out a while ago, and now it's pushed back to January 2003. But it's def. coming. Then I said...Do you guys have a waiting list? He said "we are accepting $500 deposits, but there are 6 people on the list including myself so if you are really interested, come down asap." Then we bullshited and I said, ok I'll be in tomorrow. And I went and dropped it off the next day...
