i hate taxes. i went in today to the dmv to get my actual liscense plate and i knew i was going to have to pay taxes, but i had to pay $540 of taxes. i know that isn't probably a lot compared to some of you, but that could of got me some good mods for my car. then each one of my paychecks gets quite a bit of money taken out of them from taxes.

When you've seen 60% of your paycheck go to taxes, then you have room to complain.....
Taxes suck bad....it's like you put in the days labor and the government gets paid for it....

When I sell a car, I always put in the person bought it for around $100 so they dont have to pay a shit load on tax. I dont think something should be taxed over and over again.
Speaking of taxes, did you know the aliens working in America don't have to pay any income taxes?

I hope you mean illegal aliens.
I am an 'alien' as you like to put it and I sure as hell pay income tax.

So you mean the ones that are here on work visas.
I am on a residence visa, by the end of next month I should be 100% US citizen.
The whole foreign worker tax thing is international, what makes that worse is that if you do pay tax when working in a foreign country, when you leave you get 100% refunded on exit.

Taxes are everywhere. Eithe they are called that or they are called fees. One way or another, most people in the States pay 40-60% of their income to a tax of one form or another.
Income taxes for the federal, state and local levels. Social Security taxes. Medicare taxes. Sales taxes. Gasoline taxes. Sin taxes. Fees on cable, phones, electricity, natural gas, water, sewage. Tolls. Property taxes. Car registration. Boat registration. Trailer registration. Motorcycle registration. Fishing lisence. Hunting lisence.
The list can go on and on. Its sad. If the goverment didn't force payroll deductions (that portion of your paycheck that your employer sends to the government in your name) and you had to cut a check each month for the amount, their would be an uprising of biblical proportions to get rid of it. But, because its money you never actually see, their is no huge uprising.
In fact, there are many people who get excited about a refund check from the goverment as though it wasn't their money to begin with. :disappoin

Come on now. I've worked with a few guys whose papers were, not quite legal. They got their I.D. somehow. I saw their checks. They had state and federal taxes taken out.
