Standing at the front of the car, just to the left of the coil pack.
Black plastic with a wire plug in the top, a wire in the front, and what appears to be a vacuum line on the side closest to the coils. On mine
the vacuum line isnt connected to anything......

I'm looking in my G-Platform Service Manual for 1995 as well as under the hood of my '95 and the only thing I see that fits the basic location configuration description that you gave (witht he exception of no vacuum line) is the Cruise Control Servo and associated vacuum and electrical connections. (I presume, however, that you guys would recognize that from casual observation.) So, I'm not sure what you're looking at. Can you take a digi-pic and load it up so we can take a look? I'm curious now.

Ok, I put a couple pics in my gallery....sorry about the quality, its late im tired, and i had to try to get the size down to less than 80k to upload them. Let me know if I need to re-do them....

Well, I have to tell you that my '95 has no such widget in that location. In fact, as I mentioned, that's exactly where the cruise control servo control is located with the control cable routed just in front of the coils and the vacuum line running below them.
Where's your cruise control servo located?
Sorry I can't help...but thanks for the pictures....is that the EGR per chance?
Thanks again, sorry I can't help.

I was curious about the same item. On mine, the short hose that isn't connected to anything has a blue dot on the tube. Near as I can determine, it isn't supposed to be connected to anything.
