A aquaintance of mine is selling a 95 Grand Am but he says it needs a new fuel pump. Is the pump in the fuel tank or elsewhere? Also should I check relays and fuses first? Where are they located?
Thanks

The fuel pump is in the tank. It is not difficult to remove it if you take your time.
I would suggest to check the fuel pump relay and fuse first. You could also by-pass the fuel pump relay. There is usually a red wire dangling near the fuel pump relay/fuse and you can connect a 12 volt source directly to that red wire to by-pass the fuel pump relay and directly power it with the 12 volts source from the battery to see if the fuel pump works.
