Winches fitting in the ARB...

I've been looking into winches a bit, and I've got a question...who has managed to fit a Warn HS9500 into an ARB bullbar? I just found out that it actually has less of an electrical draw than the XD9000 does for the same load, and considering how weak our electrical system is (esp. the alternator), it might be worth the extra $$$ just for that (not to mention the faster line speed.)

Basically, if I can get some reassurance from people that it will indeed fit (it's ~2" longer than the XD9000, but otherwise the same size), that will probably be the winch I wind up with, unless I find a terrific deal on the XD9000 like Synchro did.

Thoughts anyone?

p.s. to see the specs I was talking about in terms of line speed and electrical draw, go here:

I remember seeing a post on the Unofficial Board where someone had installed the HS9500 in the ARB. I don't think the HS9500 is much more expensive than the XD9000. In fact, I think I have seen magazine adds for the HS9500i that were cheaper than the XD9000.

I do! I do!
I think I do, anyways. I know it's a HS (high speed) but I wasn't sure if it was 9000 or 9500; but if there is no such thing as a HS9000, then it must be a HS9500 (I know, I know, the logic is simply astounding).
Anyways, it fit tight but fine. I don't remember any details but it's in there.
I'll double check tonight but I'm 99% sure it's a HS9500 I have packed in there.

As far as size goes, the only difference between the XD9K and the HS9500 is the size of the motor - it is slightly bigger in the HS. As far as putting it in the bar, it should bolt right up. The HS might get hotter faster because it will have less room behind tha ARB than the XD.

Thanks for the heads up on that electrical info. You just made up my mind on which winch I'm getting. I was trying to figure out if the HS and the extra 500 lbs was worth the money. Here is a site that had their prices posted. Anybody know another place cheaper?

Decent winch prices but they want $75 a piece for RS9000's! Yikes.
