still confused about ZC

Hey Me again,
I am now a little concerned that my car is illegal after the ZC was put in. In California it is illegal to put in a motor that is older than your car. My Del Sol is a '93.
on teh engine where it says "ZC" its says under it 591Z609 or 5912609 (sorry wrote it down on my hand and can't tell if its a 2 or a Z). Can that tell my anything about the motor?

if you need to know the year of the motor, next to the exhuast manifold is a small circle on the block with a number a | and another number something like this (9|1) that is the year of the motor.

Well, if you're pretty sure, than that's all the info he needs.


ZC was made from 84-00 and is pretty much a D series. There are different ones, both SOHC, and DOHC.


As Crxlvr said, there is a small spot on the head that has the date, just look at that.
