Hey Folks,
I know alot of people in the forum are import folks and never touched a carb in their life, but I was looking for the best carb type for a 351 cleveland 4V in a '78 Fairmont (2700 lbs, toploader 4-spd manual, 4.10's).
Here is the motor:
11:1 compression (100+ octane gas)
Solid roller cam, 248/258 @.050 duration, .668/.678 lift,
Fully race ported heads (320/250 cfm) with epoxy filled intake ports and backcut valves.
High rise single plane intake w/individual port runners (parker funnelweb)
RPM range 3000-7000+
I have heard many varying opinions about carb size and choice for these cleveland motors. For a normal 350 size motor, a 700 cfm would be about right. However, for a similar setup I saw a guy running a 1050 cfm dominator carb (500+ hp though, even with milder cam)! It seems HUGE for a small block. This obviously isn't a daily driver machine, just a fun car to drive like I hate it :~) Any suggestions?

Don't have a clue...
But I did read recently where a known shop (can't remember who) said carbureted cars should have about 6in vacuum at WOT.
Probably to insure adequate metering at the carb..
