Okay Ladies...

I need your help. There is this wonderful guy who is very caring and attentive who has been too caring and attentive. And he's draining me. :( And I'm wondering what I can do or say to resolve this little issue? I'm not ready for another relationship right now. Especially not in this manner. So please...any advice is helpful.

I know it probably sounds really lame, but I’ve always found the best way is to talk to them about it. It really sucks when you have to do something like that, but I’ve found it’s better that way than to let it drag on on until you explode. If he’s a really good guy, he should totally understand and give you some space. Probably hasn’t helped you much, but just letting you know what I’d do if it was me. :)

I agree with FTO Girl :) If he's a good person he would understand. Sometimes the truth hurts a bit and no one wants to feel hurt. Alot of times when one person hints they need a little space, the other may take it wrong and feel like you want nothing to do with them and end up hurt...I have been in this boat before. But it would be more hurtful to both of you if you let things slide then all of a sudden exploded and said/did something you may regret.

I'm voting along with the other 2...

You have to tell him, but phrase it in such a manner that if you ever wanted something to do w/him that way you still could... Try saying something like "you're a really fun person to hang out with. I enjoy getting to do ____ with you. Right now, I don't want to be in any relationship, and I thought you had the right to know that." Oh, and advise that I've found to be superhelpful in the past... Try NOT to use words like "but, though, however" because they have a negative connotation. Believe it or not, that really does seem to help even though it's very hard to avoid using "but".
