AEM CAI filter removal

I just recently bought my 02 SE-R and it had an AEM CAI already installed. I wanted to clean the filter because it is dirty as hell but I've tried my damndest and can't find an easy way to get it off. As far as I can tell, I have to remove the wheel well lining but it looks like it is under the lip of the fender. I don't really want to start tuggin on, I'm not sure how it is connected up there. Can anyone help me?
