Please HELP!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if the 2001 or 2002 Sunfire with a 2.4 is the same engine in a '99 Sunfire? I know this may be a dum question but I have been told that its not. If you know please email me at [email protected]. Jay

I'm pretty sure it is...the Ecotech motor wasn't out until '03 so it should be.

I'd call the dealership and ask them to be sure.

the 2.4 should be the same, the ecotec is a 2.0

The above posts are correct, the 2.4L is the same in all years, they never changed. In 95 there was a 2.3L Quad 4 engine (DOHC), and the ecotec is a 2.2L (with a duel overhead cam as well).

Just a side note, the 2.4L is also DOHC.
