hey i was wondering how much it would cost to drop an rb26dett/det engine into a 280zx and about how much it would cost to do it minus the cost of labor and all the stuff that i would have to do to get it working. I was also wondering if there areany sites that would be able to help me out on doing it. Is it also possible to make the car like the new r34 and be able to switch it from FWD to AWD to RWD?

your lookin at least $10,000 USD. your gonna pay about $6000 for the engine and GTS tranny. you cant use the tranny that the rb26 comes with becoause its a AWD tranny and your gonna need a tranny from the GTS model. alos remeber that the clutch is gonna run you around $800 or so.. also rember your gonna ned to custom fab new brackets and plumbing for your intercooler. then you gotta tackle the fuel issue. your gonna need a higher flow fuel pump and dont forget the brake upgrade. so yeah.. 10 to 12 thousand dollars should be about right...

Sounds insane to me. Drop a 350 in it and blow past all the rest.
