I get about 500 kms atleast on average before redline, and there is still about 8 - 10 litres left.

So that's between 300 - 400 miles a tank before it hits redline.

No idea about why the car is only doing 222 miles a tank....maybe you should service the car, change oil, fuel filter, etc.

It could be the oil they put in. Certain oils run better than others. In my old civic when I used normal oil I would get like 500 kms before pouring, when I started using Castrol Magnatec I started getting like 600 - 700 kms before pouring petrol, and there was usually 8 litres left.

I'd say buy your own oil next time. They probably put normal stuff in, and not good quality. I always use Mobil One in my teg.

In the summer before any mods I got close to 380mi. city/highway on my 10 gallon tank. Now I have exhuast, modified intake, and took off some smog equipment, and I get about 320mi to the tank, city driving, some full-throttle moments..... :)

The oil does play a role in gas mileage which is one of the main reasons why honda recomends 5w-40 instead of 10w-40 other then temperature range 5w makes the engines have better gas milleage becuause of its weight. The quality and type of gas also plays a role in gas mileage, all fuels are not the same! different companies put different additives in their fuels, mixing different gases could confuse the engine cpu enough to reduce efficiancy, and the cpu doesn't like changes. Hope that helps

Well said. As to why I get so more mileage...might be slighty different as mine is JDM. I use Shell Optimax or Mobil Synergy fuel which has 98 Octane rating, highest rating we can get for normal fuels here. Other than that, I usually just drive normally, don't kill my engine, and plus I don't weigh much either. :)

Up to 220 miles to a fill up if I play nice. About 130 miles if I play rough. 3rd gen Integra. Results are not typical. I remember when I used to get 350+. :( I should never have replaced my motor with a hamster in a wheel. :(

It also depends on where you pour petrol, as all service stations mix their fuels slightly differently.

spunk, you guys get 98 octane over there over where you live? pump gas at a normal gas station? over here we only get 91 octane as premium and we have to buy race fuels at specialty stores for higher octane like 108.

Yeah....98 Octane has been out for over a year now...before then it was 96. Apparently a 100 octane is being developed and coming out soon to a regular service station. Race fuels are still sold at specialty stores as well. It also depends on state regulations etc, but in Sydney we have 3 companies that have 98 Octane premium unleaded. First Shell, then the last 6months BP and Mobil have joined in.

The Mobil and Shell run the best in my Honda. BP doesn't last as long mileage wise.
