so i took my 68 out today cause it was a beautiful wisconsin day. (82 and muggy as hell). going down the street goin a swift 50 in a 45 and here comes a cop. he followed me for 8 miles and around 3 turns!!!! dont they have anything better to do than pull over a 18 year old in his car that he loves so much. i think he was jealous and just looking at my car the whole time.

They don't have anything better to do. They don't hang out at the doghnut shops anymore, they don't want to be stereotypical. They Like to follow you till you till you do something wrong out her in indiana.

i just stop and pull over. see if they follow you, or drive on by. only thing that sucks about that is you cant dust em, cuz if theyve been tailin ya, they got your plates by then, not like they just pop out of a side street and turn the lights on, ive run in that instance before. cant take a cruiser on the highway, but on side streets, they just cant handle the curves like an F-body, dip and doodle, they ont keep up, just try not to do it in residential areas. rather get a ticket than run over a kid.

the cops in my town have a switch to turn off their tail lights at night. when you come speedin up behind em, the tail lights come back on, and so do the flashers.
i think it's entrapment and dangerous myself, so i just flash my brights at the cocksuckers till they turn their tail lights back on. :iceslolan

they might have a loophole, but as a general rule, yeah no tail lights while driving on the road is illegal, id challenge it in court and never pay a ticket.

Which part of Indiana do you live in?? I live in Indianapolis. Even here, with all the sh!# going on. You'd think they have something better to do.

every1 seems to say the f-bodies handle good but mine doesnt seem that way...It slide VERY easily going around windy roady at high speeds. do u think once i get my 17's and high performance tires it will make a difference?

lol, well personally, after driving the RS for so many years, im used to kinda coasting the butt end around turns in hard driving. although my IROC sticks like glue, well, cept when i had the cheap tires and in the rain. but those tires are gone, havent had a problem sense.

oh and not to be an ass, it may have to do with the driver. i mean alot of people just dont realize that the camaro is a HEAVY car, so you cant drive it like a civic, flicking it like a sportbike from side to side and such, you kinda have to drive it like an offshore racing boat, unless youve done a full suspension upgrade. smooth transisions in steering with throttle modulation is the way to drive these cars, if you start jerkin the wheel from side to side the butts gonna get squirrly on ya, and your gonna slide all over the place. cuz the combination of weight side to side and the power at the wheels will overcome whatever traction you have. keep things cool, calm, and collected drive with your brain instead of testosterone, and they are very capible machines, ive kept up with many smaller cars on very windy roads, they thought i was gonna die, but i never REALLY lost control, it just looked that way ;)

its crazy with my car...im always moving side to side cause my truck has a little bit of play in the steering but when i hop in my car with the skinny ass 8 foot wide steering whell im always movin the car side to side. people prolly think im nuts.

Mine handles like a dream u just have to know how to control it. Once u get it down though ur good to go. It's so heavy it sticks to the road hella good. I have the Grand AM Raidal GT tires and they are one of the best tires i have come accross. Power Steering helps LOL :evillol:

Also I live in Oregon and man o man the Cops are ass holes. I just put in my new clutch & fork last week. I just finished and pulled up to a stop sign and squelled them on acadent. A cop that had got a complant from my car being to load in the morning and already warned me saw this. And did about 50 MPH accross a feild to catch my ass. I was still covered in grease head to toe and the fucker gave me a ticket for recless driving & exessive nosie so I have to go to court on the 25th.

That seems kinda harsh.. I heard that you have 15 days to provide proof of insurance after getting a ticket for having none, but that just might be my area. I have said it a few times on this forum and Ill say it again. If you have a sports/muscle car and enjoy dipping into it a bit (dont we all) you NEED to have a friend whose a cop. I cant tell you all how often I have been saved from some potentially very bad shit (everything from getting caught going 70 in a 25, to getting a DUI when I was 16) just because I knew a few cops on the force. I realize that this might not be practical for all of you, because some of you may live in huge cities and dont have the oppurtunity to know cops. But for all you/us small city boys, knowing cops will trememdously help you with your vehicle mishaps.

On a side note: Why were you driving your car if you were covered head to toe in grease? Poor interior :p

heh. Thats why i got a Thunderbird (with the Mod. Mota!). Cops wont even think twice about a speeding thunderbird. (That rule applies to ANY MN12-FE12 Car-Cougar, T-BIRD, MKVII/MKVIII). But, yeah...my SS is a different story.
