Okay, Dodge says my Power distrubution center is bad, (the fuse box under the hood) therefore am having problem with wipers. they are telling me they have to program this thing. My question is can I take one from a wrecked 96 grand and put in this thing without programing it.

I just found this post, I answered you in the wipers on-switch off post.

I was a little harsh on you, but I don't think that's where your problem is.

But, if it is (I'm not always right!) there's no programming to the PDC, just make sure you get it off the same year ('96) van, and it appears to have all the same options and fuses as your van.

To contradict my own damn self, If it solves your problem, what were all the symptoms? If it's just the Ghost wiper problem, consider disassembly and cleaning of the wiper motor internal switch contacts, just to be sure. It's relatively easy, but it won't last forever...

Hope I helped you,

I hadn't read your reply in the wiper forum till you mentioned it. anyway thanks for the info, will try cleaning the ring first but as far as taking it to a D-C dealer it was because the van would just shut off while driving it the run like crud, replaced everything I knew to replace after taking to dealer to run diagnostic mech found a harness that was routed wrong and had rubbed a wire till it shorted it, he says this is a common problem and was probably routed that way from the factory, he has seen new ones off the lot routed that way. so that fixed that but in diagnostics he found a open circuit for the wipers in the PDC and then told me the switch was bad to, imagine the look on his face when I told him I replaced it a week earlier from dodge, this van has been a nightmare, dodge makes a good product just don't think you will fix it. my positive cable corroded intwo right after we got it and went to local parts place to get it only to be told it's a dealer item, went to dodge and they told me 375.00 because you could only get it as the entire wiring harness, well went home and made one. I have owned two chrysler prod, a 68 charger rt, great car, and this van (problem child) this will be the last as my friend at the parts house says dodge wont release rights to parts to aftermarket and they are expensive to fix (I believe him as coworkers have dodge trucks and they are problems to) as far as the Ford Man comment, yea have been all my life and have had very few problem with them, every one says you can't hotrod a ford, or couldn't when I was younger, wrong just have to know how, have a tbird turbo coupe with over 200,000 on it still running strong on original engine and still to this day would drive anywhere. 69 mustang with same story, had a aerostar before the voyager and in 6 years only put a battery and starter on it the biggest reason I like ford is I can fix it if it breaks. sorry to be so long winded but thanks again on the tip on the wipers will try it and let ya know if it works.

if the pdc is bad will that also cause the fuel pump not to kick on sometimes and cause the temp/compass to be outta wack?
