3 Car Keep-away

So, it was Tuesdy night and i was driving aimlessly as college students have a tendency to do when they're bored. (Me anyway)
I was stopped at a red light in the left lane, nobody else around, wondering what the hell to do. The light changes to green and before i get my foot from the brake to the gas, 2 cars go flying by in the right lane!
I was shocked to say the least, and kinda sat for a second. It was an 82ish 240Z (i think that's the name then) and about a 1988-89 Honda Prelude, and they were flying!
I hit the gas, that race was something i needed to see the end of...they passed me doing at least 100km/h, and my old car takes a while to get going.
So after the time it took to get myself to 140km/h and about 5 minutes of tearing down the road wondering if it's worth trying to find them, i got them back in my sights around a tree lined corner. (gotta love freeways)
I couldn't believe i'd caught up to them, but as i was forced to slow down to 80km/h (the posted speed limit) via the amount of other traffic, i could see why! They continued their game of cat and mouse, darting in and out of traffic trying to get ahead of each other, me not too far behind. After another few minutes of this there was a break in traffic; the Prelude got there first and led the way flying ahead, with the Nissan in hot pursuit.
I put the gas to the floor to try and keep up, but it was in vain as they just pulled more and more; i had no chance with my old car's weight and age and, well, everything else...she pulls hard, but not hard enough this time. Exciting while it lasted though, giving chase was a blast!
I'm a newb, but i was a regular here a couple years back 'til i became occupied and i forgot my old id and password. So...
Glad to be back in AF! Hope ya'll liked the post of my encounter!

Yeah, that's always entertaining when the cops get them and you cruise by waving!
I've never waved myself, my brother waved for me!

Youngvr4, if you're asking me (i guess it's dumb to assume otherwise) the car in my signature is the car i have. I've never had nother car except for when i worked in car sales for a year when i drove a Focus.
Like the signature says, she's faster then she sounds! The old car runs like a top...i just can't race anything other then a Geo Metro off the line!
She pulls really hard on the highway still though. If i'm cruising at 85-100 and give 'er all it's got, she's got alot of spunk!

LOL, hey isn't it illegal where you live to be driving around a car without a catylac converter??? Or is this just a race car on track only type of thing?

Youngvr:
The car is 22 years old (her birthday was March 3rd). It's 17-18 feet long, just under 6 feet wide and weighs roughly 4500lbs. The horsepower numbers and such i don't know, but i'm assuming that since it's a 5.0L with the 4 barrel carb (despite the 3speed and the single exhaust) it makes around 200 horsepower.
Raz Kaz:
Only if the car is younger then 20 years old is it illegal by emissions standards to have it removed. So technically, but, 'no'.
But keep this between us ok, no body else needs to know that!

Yeah she's a giant!
I should've said this earlier, but do you remember the Cheverolet Caprice sedans from the 80s, like the old police cars? That's what my car is like, but it's made by Pontiac.

Are you sure it's a car and not a boat? what's it's 0-60 and 1/4 mile times?

It's a close call on that one, that's why my screen is what it is!! LOL
Zero to 100km/h (60mph) is between 8.5 and 10 seconds if i can launch it right...yes it's an automatic, but the accelerator is old and well broken in; there's a great sweet spot on the gas pedal to get her going but the trick is to hit it just right. I have to give this time window because i've never actually timed her. 1/4 mile i have no idea either, for reasons mentioned.
She doesn't sound that fast, and off the line she's not (see signature), but once she's going and i give it, that car moves pretty good!
