U have a 1990 ford bronco with a 5.8 (351) in it I was out in the mud with it and after going though the mud pit like 10-15 times I noticed that the truck was starting to get hot now so I pulled it over and let it sit for probably 30-45 min and went and check the coolant and the cap wasn’t hot or anything so I opened it and there was coolant into the over flow and the radiator and it still read out hot but it wasn’t hot so I drove home like 30 min away and it read hot still I got home checked it out it wasn’t that hot so I left it after I cleaned all the mud doff of it and the next day got up to0 go to work and it said it was cold then I got on the freeway and it went strait to hot so I got to work and then left it there in the peaking lot got in to go home and it read cold then it just staid normal nothing since then no over heating nothing I was just wondering if you could give me some ideas to what happened.

Sounds like the temp sensor might have shorted out while muddin. Does your check engine light come on? If so, pull codes and diagnose accordingly.
