what about this chip sthat plug into the diagnostick port, do they work? Since its not legally my car I don't want to solder anything in. and how much should I pay, and much more hp is it going to add?

You will have to solder in the new EPROM. The Spoon chip does give a little gain. But yes, it will damage your engine.
