radar question

hey for the fellow canadians out there, do the radar detectors work well? i haven't used it nor do i know anyone personally who uses it either.. and also, if it DOES work and i DO get it, if i tint my windows, will it decrease the detection radius significantly??

radar is micro / radio / ir waves.. not light waves.. tint should not affect the performance.

There is a new comparison of radar detectors in this month's car and driver; V1 wins by a wide margin.

Tint most certainly affects your detector's ability to function. Read the faq's on Valentines website! Always try to mount it as high as possible but under the line of tint if you have one on your front window. Highly reccomend reading the info on the V1 website!
