Door Speakers

I installed a new Pioneer 200 watt player and now my car door speakers sound horrible, sounds like the speaker is loose or something. I was wondering if buying new speakers would help or if it is something with the door. These are factory speakers.

Also, could anyone give me instructions on how to replace them? I dont wanna break any clips in the door.

If anyone could tell me what color wire they had on the harness i could just cut that wire and not worry about them.

TIA

well stock sound systems are only made to handle between 5-15 watts, so although your pioneer claims it feeds 50X4 its really more like 20-25 watts, so you could be overpoering your speakers and thus distorting them, try settign the treb, mid and bass at zero and put it at about half volume, is it still distorted? if so then it might be a loose speaker.

more likely, the natural vibration feqencies are being kicked up, so theres nothing you can do.

just curious-what kind of head unit do you have?

the 50x4 power is at peak. actual RMS power for (most) pioneer decks is 22 or 23 watts.

while new speakers will certainly help, you also have to consider that new speakers will get better response too, which may in itself cause the door to rattle (because of the extra bass) this all depends on the kind of car you have too.

you're probably overpowering the speakers. i'd just figure out what size they are front and back and buy new ones from Wal Mart. got Pioneer speakers for my car for $100 total from there. hardest part to putting them in is getting everything off..after that its easy

what kind of car do you have? i'll try to walk you thru it if i've worked on one before
